Status codes: quick reference

1 min read

The API always responds with an HTTP status code. Here are the most important ones:

  • 200 OK — everything went well.
  • 400 Bad Request — something in your request is wrong (e.g. a parameter).
  • 401 Unauthorized — the key is missing or invalid.
  • 402 Payment Required — the account is paused or marked for deletion; reactivate it in the dashboard.
  • 403 Forbidden — the key isn't allowed to do this (scope, IP/domain or plan).
  • 404 Not Found — what you looked for doesn't exist.
  • 429 Too Many Requests — you've hit the rate limit or quota.
  • 5xx — an error on our side; try again a little later.

For 401, 403 and 429 we have a detailed guide: [Common errors](almindelige-fejl).

Remember: only successful responses count toward your quota. Error responses (all 4xx and 5xx, e.g. 400, 401, 403, 404 and 429) do not count.
