Authentication and base URL

Authentication

Base URL: https://api.danskadresseapi.dk.

Send your key in one of these ways:

  • Authorization: Bearer <key> (recommended)
  • ?token=<key> in the URL
  • X-Addr-Key: <key>

Keys look like sk_live_... (server) or sk_pub_... (browser, origin-locked). Older keys with addr_/daa_ still work.

Two surfaces

  • /dawa/* — 100% DAWA-compatible drop-in (recommended). Requires a key just like /v1 — a free Hobby key is enough.
  • /v1/* — our own native API (structured JSON + BBR/DAGI enrichment). Also requires a key.

If you call from a fixed server IP, you can instead bind the IP to your account (IP binding) and call without a key.

Bash
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer <key>" \
  "https://api.danskadresseapi.dk/v1/autocomplete?q=rådhus"
Migrating from the official DAWA? Swap api.dataforsyningen.dk for api.danskadresseapi.dk/dawa and add your key — same fields. See "Choose /dawa or /v1".
